Mr Allen is a native ofNorth Carolina and graduated North Carolina State University with highest honors in political since and philosophy in 1990. Mr. Allen was torn between pursuing a doctorate in philosophy and a career in the law. A part-time job at a family law office on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh influenced Mr. Allen to attend law school at UNC Chapel Hill. Upon his graduation from UNC Law, Mr. Allen began his domestic law career in Raleigh .
After rising to the level of a partner in a Herring McBennett Mills and Finkelstein, PLLC, Mr. Allen joined Chalres Ullman to create the law firm of Ullman & Allen in 2003.
Since 1994 Mr. Allen has routinely appeared in the district and superior courts in Wake County and is admitted to practice before the federal court in Raleigh . Mr. Allen handles all matters related to divorce and separation, including child custody, absolute divorce, support issues, property distribution, and so on. Mr. Allen is a trained family law mediator.
Mr. Allen has been a speaker at legal education seminars, a past co-chair of Wake County Family Lawyers, and Volunteer Counsel for the American Radio Relay League.
Mr. Allen is married with two chidlren. He and his family attend St. Pauls's Episcopal Church in Smithfiled.
